Hey everyone, it’s Jeremy from Ochsner Insurance, back with another one-take Jeremy’s Journal for the week ending August 16th, 2024. This week, I’m sharing some insights and updates on our journey, the lessons we’re learning, and the steps we’re taking to keep pushing forward.
The Numbers and the Struggle to Stay on Track
Let’s start with the numbers because that’s often what everyone wants to hear first. Unfortunately, the numbers aren’t where I want them to be. The amount of new prospecting calls to businesses wasn’t nearly enough, and I know it’s on me—I’m not getting out there as much as I should.
However, we did have some wins. We participated in some great Chamber of Commerce events and other networking opportunities, where we made new connections and talked with potential referral partners. So, while the prospecting numbers were low, we ended the week on a positive note.
The Big News: Welcome, Joel H.!
I’m excited to announce that we’ve hired our virtual employee, Joel H! Joel is currently onboarding, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board. With his strong background in sales and service support and our structured onboarding process through Total CSR and our video training, we’re confident Joel will help us elevate our service to both existing clients and new prospects.
Launching Our New App
Another exciting development is the upcoming launch of our new app! Set to go live the week of August 19th, this app will provide our clients with a 24/7 connection to their policies. They’ll be able to request service, view their insurance details, file claims, and even request new policies—all from their phones, desktops, laptops, or tablets. We’re really excited to offer this level of convenience to our clients. Click here to download the app and signup!
Personal Development and a Change in Perspective
At Ochsner Insurance, we don’t just focus on serving our clients—we’re also committed to personal development. Lately, I’ve been listening to Ed Mylett’s podcast, which has been a game-changer for me. One of the biggest takeaways has been the idea that you don’t need to have everything perfectly in place before taking action. Ed compares it to rushing to the hospital when a loved one is in trouble—you don’t wait until everything is perfect, you just go. That hit me hard and made me realize that I need to stop waiting for the perfect time to take action.
Stepping Up Prospecting
Inspired by Ed Mylett’s message, I’m setting a new goal for myself: I’m going to prospect 5 to 10 new businesses every day next week. It’s not about hitting a perfect number; it’s about getting out there and making those connections.
Golfing and Building Relationships
On a lighter note, I took some advice from the podcast and got out on the golf course. Golfing isn’t just a game; it’s a great way to learn about people. You can tell a lot about someone by how they handle themselves on the course—whether they cheat, how they treat others, and how they handle challenges. I played a round with a buddy, and we had a blast. It was a reminder that sometimes, building relationships can be as simple as spending a few hours on the golf course.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the latter half of 2024, I’m feeling optimistic about what’s to come. We’re reading some great books like “The Gap and the Gain” and “10x is Easier Than 2x” by Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy, as well as “Buy Back Your Time” by Dan Martell. These resources are helping us refine our processes and stay focused on growth.
Thanks for your continued support, and if we haven’t met you yet, we’re looking forward to connecting soon. Here’s to your success!
