Celebrating Life Amidst Loss

First, I shared a personal moment that many can relate to—celebrating the life of a loved one. In late September, I held a celebration of life for my father. This was a bittersweet occasion that brought together family and friends, allowing us to remember his incredible influence on our lives. While loss is never easy, we found joy in the memories we shared, reinforcing our belief that he is in a better place, free from earthly struggles.

This experience reminded me of the importance of connection and community, especially during tough times. It’s crucial to lean on one another, and I encourage everyone to cherish those special moments with family and friends.

Adapting to Change in the Workplace

As we navigate personal challenges, the professional world often throws its own hurdles our way. At Ochsner Insurance, we’ve been adapting to changes, particularly with our new team member, Edgardo. He’s been a bright addition to our virtual team, helping us refine our processes and improve our client service.

We’ve been developing playbooks together, based on insights from Dan Martell’s “Buy Back Your Time,” which aim to streamline operations and enhance learning. Training him on effective communication has been a rewarding experience, and it’s inspiring to see his enthusiasm for the insurance industry.

The Insurance Landscape: A Rollercoaster Ride

The current state of the insurance market, particularly in personal lines, has been quite unpredictable. It feels like one day we can secure a policy, and the next day, we face rejections. Despite these challenges, we remain optimistic, believing that the market will stabilize.

It’s important to remember that setbacks are part of the journey. We’ve encountered some tough declines, and while it can be disheartening, we continue to push forward, exploring alternative solutions. Sometimes, this means turning to access and surplus markets to find the best options for our clients.

Communication and Perseverance

We faced a recent setback when we were unable to secure coverage for a client looking to buy a building. After reaching out to ten standard markets, all declined. It was a humbling experience, but we prioritized communication, ensuring our client was informed every step of the way.

Ultimately, we can’t control the outcomes, but we can control our efforts and how we support our clients. This principle of open communication and perseverance is what drives us at Ochsner Insurance. We aim for excellence in everything we do, and if we ever fall short, we want to hear from you so we can improve.
